Here is the idea: As age and geography make it more difficult for us all to meet in person, we can use this technology to stay in touch and to share experiences involving families and friends.

Let this corner of this web site be a clearinghouse for such experiences. If you e-mail pictures and stories of interest to our circle, the person behind kjell@ec.rr.com will try to make sure that those pictures and stories will be available on the web.

Let’s give it a shot!

Starting around the 2006 New Year both the Lars and Leif families made the trip down here to the NC coast. Both for scheduling reasons and out of concern for how much excitement this old couple could take at one time, they spaced out their visits a little.

Lars, Marion, and Jenna arrived here on December 26, 2005, which happened to be our Wedding Anniversary #52. The family which moved to Brevard a few months ago. This is further up in the North Carolina mountains, another couple of hours away from us. Lars works for Wachovia Bank from home with his computer, and Marion is teaching school there.

They brought a couple of surprises with them. Cooper, their Golden Retriever had trouble finding a kennel to stay while they were gone, so they brought him. He is a very large, very friendly, and surprisingly obedient puppy.

The other surprise was the girl that we have been used to call Jenna. Peer pressure (?) has made this soon-to-be-eleven-years-old adopt the name Kris (for Kristin, her middle name).
The old - eh, young - Jenna was always very much aware of her age group, going from ‘baby’ to ‘kid’ to ‘youth’, etc. Now, she points out that Kris will be ‘pre-pre teen’ shortly....

Whatever their names, we enjoyed having them here, and there shouldn’t be too much trouble telling who is who on the following pictures:

On January 7, Lei, Lee, and Sarah made the trip down here from Raleigh. Sarah is four years old now, and probably a ‘kid’ in Jenna’s terminology. She is a lively and bright kid who talks more and more every time we see her.

Leif has a very full work schedule, and it looks like all the work is ready to create a break-through with several customers worldwide just now.

Lee and Sarah are ready to make the big trip to Malaysia again to celebrate the New Year over there. They embark on their long flight (which we don’t envy them!) on January 21.

Leif will get a little more time for work while they are gone, but is also planning to visit a business show in Barcelona, Spain, while they are gone.
